Fusion 360 unifies design, engineering, electronics, and manufacturing into a single software platform.
I lead the geographically dispersed manufacturing experience design team, a multi-functional team integrating subtractive, additive, nesting, and metrology technologies into a single, connected, cohesive user experience. We also took on responsibility for the introduction of a new business model: in-product purchasing of advanced functionality, called ‘Extensions’.
As part of the leadership team I worked on vision, prioritized goals, and features to execute business and manufacturing plans. I incorporated stakeholder feedback, customer research, usage data, and customer sentiment data, informing prioritization and feature release readiness. We ultimately increased Fusion Manufacturing user subscription by +30k and introducing the new ‘Extensions’ business model.
Through the successful team collaboration, I built trust with development and product management to establish and further advance the strategic value of design within the organization. We allowed for rapid design iterations while keeping all stakeholders informed of the latest changes, creating a tight integration with development and enabling users to immediately see how a product design change affects the manufacturing process.
While delivering on our business and feature goals together with engineering, I was also able to increase the design team’s engagement score by 18% within a year.
