Fusion Production was a shop floor production management tool targeted at small to medium size manufacturing shops with the goal to optimize shop productivity, production traceability and balancing machine loads.
For this project I assembled and hired a highly functional design team including experience, visual, content experience designers and an experience researcher. The design team collaborated with product management, business, and development to create a version one product within a year.
We developed a browser and tablet version of the application while establishing very close relationships with lighthouse customers to ensure product viability and explore a business plan for the product. The project was run like a start-up, allowing feature and release priorities to change as needed in an agile fashion.
With the assembly of a well-functioning design team, we were able to gain the trust of developers and product management and became a shining example for the way experience design should work with other functions within the organization.
